Important presentation of the AERA project during National seminar “Improvement of digitalisation competences of recent and future teachers by development of advanced training on instructional design of digital training” 9th of April 2026 in Madrid, Spain
The AERA project was presented during the National seminar “Improvement of digitalisation competences of recent and future teachers by development of advanced training on instructional design of digital training”, which was held on 9th of April 2026 in Madrid, Spain.

The project coordinator prof. PhD Cristina Sanchez Romero from UNED and the project partners from ASOCIACIÓN MADRILEÑA DE PROFESIONALES DE LA ATENCIÓN TEMPRANA, Spain and Bulgarian Inclusion Support Team presented the framework of the project results and focused on different components of the Universal design for learning, Web accessibility and Artificial intelligence.


More than 60 recent and future teachers, educational experts, policy makers and representatives of educational institution received information about the project and its status. They will be also invited for the piloting phase of the project in 2027-2028.

AERA project demonstrated at the cluster conference of the Erasmus+ national agencies of Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of North Macedonia – 26 March 2026, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

On 25th and 26th of March 2026, the Erasmus+ National Agencies of Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of North Macedonia organised an International conference dedicated to the Inclusion and Diversity. The project consortium was represented by the Bulgarian Inclusion Support Team, who presented the framework and the overall concept of the AERA project as well as the initial framework of the novel AI-related roadmap and platform for personalized learning patways and homework support for students with disabilities and learning difficulties accessible to educators across the EU. The event was an important opportunity to gather at earlier stage of the project feedback by teachers, psychologists, special educators and policy makers from those two countries.


AERA project presented at IeTIC International Conference – 19-20 February 2026, Madrid, Spain

On 19th and 20th of February, 2026, in Madrid, Spain, the Annual International Conference IeTIC 2026 was held. More than 100 participants from Europe and all over the world have participated. The AERA project consortium was represented by prof. PhD Cristina Sanchez Romero – project coordinator and by Ms. Carmen Gutiez Cuevas and prof. PhD Pilar Gutiez Cuevas from ASOCIACIÓN MADRILEÑA DE PROFESIONALES DE LA ATENCIÓN TEMPRANA, Madrid, Spain and Mr. Andrean Lazarov from Bulgarian Inclusion Support Team.

They have presented the initial framework of R1: A novel AI-related roadmap and platform for personalized learning patways and homework support for students with disabilities and learning difficulties accessible to educators across the EU and R2: Approbated hybrid microcredential training course including tips, guidelines and strategies for educators. This was an important and valuable opportunity to gather initial feedback from experts in the field of AI, UDL, WCAG2.0 and inclusive education from all over the world. The event was also online broadcasted.

Very successful kick-off transnational partners’ meeting was held in Madrid – 22-23 January 2026

We are proud to announce the successful realisation of the kick off transnational partners’ meeting, which was held in the period 22-23 January 2026 in Madrid, Spain. The meeting was hosted by the project coordinator Prof. Cristina Sanchez Romero, PhD on behalf of UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE EDUCACION A DISTANCIA, Madrid, Spain.

The partners discussed the development process of the novel AI-related roadmap and platform for personalized learning patways and homework support for students with disabilities and learning difficulties accessible to educators across the EU. They have decided on the curriculum and learning outcomes of the planned hybrid microcredential training course including tips, guidelines and strategies for educators.

Dedicated sessions on internal quality assurance, project management, national advisory boards, dissemination, exploitation and establishment of the Community of practice were held.

Participation at the ICASF – 3rd International Conference on Advanced Sustainable Futures – 10-11 December 2025, Abu Dhabi, UAE

Prof. PhD Cristina Sanchez Romero – the AERA’s project coordinator together with Prof. PhD Pilar Gutiez Cuevas – President of AMPAT (project partner) gave a speech during the 3rd ICASF International Conference on Advanced Sustainable Futures. The event was held on 10th and 11th December 2025, in Abu Dhabi, UAE and allows also online presentation. Our representatives pointed out the main concept behind the methodology for ensuring personalised learning pathways for students with disabilities and special needs as well as pointed out the importance these students to become more independent into the ethical and responsible use of artificial intellegence tools to ensure their independent learning and preparation of homework. In that way, we have extended our dissemination network beyond the European union.

Promotion of the project during the INVEST European alliance winter school on “Diversity and inclusion” – 01-05 December 2025, Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The project concept and expected results were presented during the winter school on the topic “Inclusion and Diversity” as part of the European University Alliance “INVEST”. Students from pedagogical faculties from Slovak Republic, Greece, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, Finland and France have learnt about the methodology behing the project and they will take part in the Community of practice once the project results are available.

Presentation and dissemination of the project during International scientific conference “Leadership and Organisational development”, Sofia, Bulgaria

The project launch was promoted during the International scientific conference on “Leadership an Organisational development”. It was hosted by the biggest university in Bulgaria – the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohdridski”.
The project consortium was represented by prof. PhD Cristina Sanchez Romero – project coordinator on behalf of UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE EDUCACION A DISTANCIA, Madrid, Spain, Dr. Konstantinos Kokkinos – local coordinator of University of Thessaly, Greece, Andrean Lazarov – CEO of the Bulgarian Inclusion Support Team and prof. PhD Pilar Gutiez Cuevas – President of ASOCIACIÓN MADRILEÑA DE PROFESIONALES DE LA ATENCIÓN TEMPRANA, Madrid, Spain. They have participated in different pannels of the conference, where they have introduced different components of the project realisation – the inclusive education and AI support, platform specifics aspects etc.
